Chateau Brane Cantenac began in the early part of the 18th century. The Baron of Brane bought the chateau in 1833. When the Baron bought the estate it was called Brane Mouton. After purchasing the property he renamed it Brane Cantenac. In the 1920’s Societe des Grnds Crus de France a company of growers and merchants purchased Brane Cantenac. The chateau is now owned by the Lurton family.
