The Legend of Chateau Petrus

Undoubtably there are some great icons which many of us mere mortals aspire too. Whether it be a Lear Jet, a Rolex watch or an Italian super car or two. Chateau Petrus from the Pomerol appellation is just one such icon. A tinly parcel of land of 11.42 hectacres in one of Bordeaux's smallest appellations. Made from the entirely Merlot grape. It produces one of the world's most sought after wines. Owned by the Moueix famil, the nearby Libourne wine merchants.

Yields are kept very low. Each hectacre produces on average 28 hectolitres. This means that the wines are immesnsely concentrated and have an enormous capacity to age. Grapes are picked only in bunches when they are completely ripe unlike many lesser vineyards when the harvesting is done all at one time.

We have a small offer running of 3 consecutive vintages from 2006 until 2008 inclusive.
