Fine Wine Terms of Sale
These are our terms and conditions which apply to all our sales, they form the basis
on which all our orders are accepted.
Payment
Payment is due on invoice. We accept all forms of Standard International Payment
including Telegraphic Transfer and Credit Cards. Our trade accounts have 30 days
in which to pay. Overdue accounts may carry interest at 5% over and above the rate
of HSBC PLC.
Title and Risk
We retain title to all goods until they have been paid in full.
Delivery
Free UK delivery for orders over £200.00* per delivery address. Delivery costs £15.00
for orders under £200.00. Please note: We no longer offer a wine delivery service
for orders of less than £100.00 per delivery address (excluding delivery charge).
Returns
Our returns policy could not be easier. You may return or exchange a wine within
28 days of despatch. We ask for it to be in saleable condition, packed in its original
undamaged case. We will asses the condition of the wine and packaging when making
a refund. Your statutory rights are not affected in the event of the wines being
faulty. Once the wines are received by us we will either refund the price of exchange
your wines.
Collections
You can collect from or charge from our bonded warehouse in Silvertown, London or
from our offices in Sevenoaks, Kent.
Breakages
Do please check your delivery as soon as possible following its arrival. Should
a bottle be broken please let us know by either e-mail or telephone.
Prices
Unless marked otherwise our prices are shown as follows
- Per case or bottle as indicated
- Exclusive of VAT and duty
- Exclusive of delivery charges
- Subject to confirmation and acceptance of your order.
Default
Should payment remain overdue for four weeks or the goods have not been collected
within three months we shall be entitled to send written notice to you of our intention
to sell or dispose of the goods and 10 days after we have the liberty to do so.
Any method of resale is entirely at our discretion.
Following the re sale you will receive a credit of the proceeds less 20%. Any balance
after the credit shall remain payable by you and shall continue to carry interest.
Current UK duty rate
VAT Rate -The current rate of VAT is 15%
Duty Rates - Current duty rates are:
Table wine: Red & White wine £19.26 per case (per 9 litres)
Sparking Wine ie: Champagne £24.67 per case
Fortified Wine ie: Port £25.68 per case
Description and quality
We shall properly store your wines whilst they are in our possession. We cannot
be responsible for the state and condition of the wine where it corresponds to the
quality which might be expected from its description.
Acceptance
You undertake to inspect your goods when collecting or delivering and to notify
the carrier for any shortage or damage within three days after collection or delivery.
After then you will not be entitled to reject wines for any reason.
Law
All our contracts are made under English Law and are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction
of the English Courts.
